Recent Bug Fixes

Posted on March 5th, 2007 in Bug Fixes by

A number of bug fixes have been completed:

  • Extended characters (such as the slanted double-quotes that Microsoft Word produces) would cause a square box to be displayed in the generated Quog image. These extended characters are now replaced with characters supported by the installed Quogr fonts.
  • When configuring an image after uploading, putting in a right or bottom pixel location less than the left or top would cause an error. Fixed.
  • Blank font colors would cause an error. Fixed — blank fonts will be black.
  • Any file type was allowed for image upload. If the uploaded image was not a jpeg, an error would be displayed instead of the image. Fixed — only .jpg files are accepted for upload.

TheseĀ errors were reported by the user community — that’s you! If you notice a problem with Quogr, please let us know so that we can make it better. We appreciate your support!

New Default Image Coming Soon

Posted on February 27th, 2007 in General by

We’ve brought a few good men on board who will be creating a handful of new images for the background gallery. One of these new images will be selected to be the Quogr default. If you are using the default background image (i.e., you never uploaded your own background image) you will see a change to your quogs within the next few days. If you don’t like the new image, simply click the [Change how your quog is displayed] option from your dashboard and select a different image.

Quog your MySpace Extended Network

Posted on February 23rd, 2007 in Extreme Quoging by

Every MySpace page contains a box in the top-right corner that says, “So-and-so is in your extended network.” I’m sure MySpace had great intentions for the extended network box but, as it currently stands, it’s useless. That is, it’s useless to everyone else. But you, my dear Quogrite, to you it’s an asset because you can stuff it with a quog and display your favorite quotes and sayings to all your MySpace friends. In the next few paragraphs, I’ll teach you how to Quog your MySpace Extended Network. (Click the images for a larger view.)

The first order of business is to choose a background image for your quog. The default size of the extended network box is 435 x 75 pixels. You can either create and upload your own background image with these dimensions or choose the image we’ve made available in the gallery.

From your MySpace home page, click [Edit Profile]. Place the following code in the [About Me] box. Be sure to change [{userid}] on the [userid={userid});] line to your Quogr login name. The final code should not have the curly braces.

<style>
table table table td {
vertical-align:top ! important;
}
span.blacktext12 {
visibility:visible !important;
background-color:transparent;
background-image:url(http://quogr.com/services/rest/?method=get_quog_by_profile&
userid={userid});
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:center center;
font-size:0px;
letter-spacing:-0.5px;
width:435px;
height:75px;
display:block !important;
}
span.blacktext12 img {
display:none;
}
</style>

That’s it! It’s that easy. Save your profile and go check it out. Awesome, huh? Now go tell your friends that they can be cool like you by using Quogr.
